  Thallus small to medium-sized, foliose, adnate, sometimes loose and ascending at margins, matt, isidiate, pale to dark olive-green becoming greyish green when dry; isidia numerous, completely covering centre of thallus, cylindrical to squamiform, simple or branched; lobules few, small, rounded. Lobes broad, extended, sometimes radiating. Apothecia sparse, laminal, immersed; disc concave, matt or glossy, epruinose, red; thalline exciple thick, entire, isidiate. Asci 60–90 × 18–22 µm. Ascospores 20-30 × 9-10 µm, ellipsoidal, muriform, 3–5 transverse septa and 1–2 longitudinal septa, often constricted at septa. Pycnidia to 260 µm wide; pycnidial gel hyaline. Conidia 4 × 1 µm, straight, slightly swollen towards ends.
     
  Rare in New Zealand and known in Australia from W.A. and N.S.W. Grows on calcareous rock.
